About KK Doodles
Kate and Kain's Bernedoodles, in Akron, Ohio.
Our Story
It Started With One Bernese
KK Doodles started the way a lot of good things do: with one dog. Kate and Kain brought home their first Bernese Mountain Dog and, like most people who share a house with one, they were won over within a week. The gentle face, the steady temperament, the way a big dog leans on your legs and makes a bad day better: it was the kind of dog you want everyone you love to have.
Why Bernedoodles
The Bernese Heart in a Smaller Dog
It also came with the things every Bernese family learns about: the shedding, the size, and a lifespan that always feels too short. The more Kate and Kain read, the more they wanted to keep that Bernese heart in a smaller, lower-shedding dog that more families could live with. That is what led them to the Bernedoodle, the Bernese Mountain Dog crossed with the Poodle.
Today
Bernedoodles in Akron, Ohio
So the hobby turned into a family project in Akron, Ohio. Today KK Doodles raises micro, mini and pocket Bernedoodles, with the occasional standard, and the best part for Kate and Kain is still the same moment: handing a puppy to a family and watching them fall for a doodle the way they once fell for their first Bernese.
